Cold chain planner

The temperature band decides the building, the plant and the paperwork.

Chilled

0 °C to 5 °C — Dairy, fresh meat, prepared food. The common food-grade band.

What a facility must have

  • Temperature mapping of every storage zone, repeated after any layout change.
  • Continuous monitoring with alarms that reach someone out of hours.
  • Backup power sized to hold temperature through an outage, and a tested failover.
  • A documented excursion procedure: what happens to stock when a limit is breached.
  • Airlocks or dock shelters so loading does not warm the room.

Cold storage in the directory

3 mapped facilities are tagged as cold storage.

On the facility list: temperature capability is read from OpenStreetMap tags, and most buildings carry none. A facility missing from this list may well run cold rooms — the mapping simply does not say. Treat it as a starting point, not a register.

Band ranges follow common trade practice. Your product's own specification, and any regulation covering it, always wins over this table.
